Facebook is launching an effort to get more Americans vaccinated against COVID-19, including converting part of its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters into a vaccination site.
Sheryl Sandberg, the company's chief operating officer, announced the details of the endeavor in a post on Friday.
Starting April 10, Facebook will partner with the Ravenswood Family Health Center to turn part of its headquarters into a vaccination clinic for underserved communities.
The company said it is also partnering with Calif. Governor Gavin Newsom and nonprofits to support pop-up clinics to help hard-hit communities get vaccinated.
"I hope that everyone will get vaccinated once they're eligible to protect themselves and their loved ones, so we can bring an end to the pandemic," wrote Sandberg in her post.
Facebook has taken other steps on its platform to encourage users to get vaccinated against COVID. Earlier this month, it launched a tool to help users find the nearest location to get a vaccine. The social media site is allowing users to add a "I got my COVID vaccine" frame to their profiles.
